Garden No 4: English country garden Winchester

English country garden Winchester - Plan

Situated in an idyllic Hampshire village near Winchester, with sheep grazing the pasture, the brief for this pretty pink washed cottage was for a quintessentially English Garden. Designed for a couple of keen gardeners, it is filled with soft, pastel colours and classic plants: lavender, lilac, herbs, foxgloves, roses, iris and paeonies. The rich scent of jasmine and honeysuckle wreath a new green oak pergola which in turn is framed by a mature double pink cherry. The formal layout is overlaid and subverted with exuberant and romantic planting.
